Silverlining

I am a free man, provisional anyway, but I don’t feel like one. It occurred to me really that exams weren’t my life; they didn’t own me. That should have been a positive statement, but unfortunately, life seems a tad more complicated than that. What I meant to say is: Exams weren’t the only problems that needed to be solved. Maybe at times, they were at the zenith of distresses, yet eradicating them did not pull the full weight off my shoulders.
Could you believe it? I got a job. Someone actually hired me. And I thought life is still a fucking joke. Working life is still a shock for me. A job where I was given no special conditions whatsoever, and here I am thinking I’ve worked before in a clinic I know how it is. Well I hated to break it to myself but  soon enough I’ve realised I’m just an extremely naive and sophomoric teenager who has not yet tasted the bitterness of the real world. My boss is actually pretty fierce and vigilant, which of course, are all the qualities that should appear in a good manager. Though as an employee, it’s terrible news. We of course take every opportunity possible to slack and sneak food out, which is good fun really. Fortunate enough. I’m surrounded by such lovely co-workers whose age ranges from 17(me) - 38. It might appear quite menacing at first glance to say that I am actually friends with someone who is 38, yet it’s really one of those things where you have to be there to see how it is. I’ve learnt so much from just the past 3 days of working that was probably more than the past half year of 2013. 8 hours per day from 5 pm to 1 am. You’d imagine how challenging and intensive the simple diction of “waitress” actually stand for. The first two days were exhausting but I’m getting the hang of it. Friday night I’ve had a terrific time, for which the chef baked some surplus chocolate soufflés and I swear to God I’ve never tasted a better one in my life.
I’d close the entry with how good looking the bartender is but honestly, it’s 1:31 and I need my sleep. I’d save that for the upcoming entry.
